fab five texas cheerleader scandal

Saturday, January 31st, 2009

Basically the majority of the show you watch as the Fab Five try and ruin the new coaches life, they try to get her to quit. [1]

The Five cheerleaders are Kelly Buffa, Kirsten Davis, Madison Tanner, Hannah Cochran, and Meigan Goff, from the Katy’s Morton Ranch High School varsity cheerleading squad. [2]

Watch a trailer for “Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal.” [3]

There was also a TV Movie was made ‘Fab Five’ in which Five high school cheerleaders, including the daughter of the school principal, gone wild. [2]

The girls were “uber cool,” according to attorney Harry Jones, who was hired by the school district to launch an investigation. [4]

What makes it all the more wickedly delicious though is the fact that this movie followed a real life story nearly to the tee. [...] Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal was actually a pretty good movie. [1]

The unnamed high school, which every alert citizen in these parts knows represents McKinney North High, is depicted as a kind of gulag-in-reverse where timid, fog-headed school employees and frightened, snake-charmed students are humiliated and bullied into submission by a cadre of teenage girls as greedy and sadistic as rampaging Visigoths. [...] These girls were very naughty in school. [5]

Plot: Five high school cheerleaders, including the daughter of the school principal, run amok — and teachers, parents and administrators allow them to get away with a wide range of scandalous behavior. [6]

This coach though is a hard baller, and she does everything in her power to see that the girls face consequences for when they do something they are not supposed to. [1]

“Kids will be kids, but adults have to be adults,” Jones said. [...] They were “telling teachers to shut up, using a cell phone in class even after being told not to, cheating on tests, skipping school,” Jones said. [4]

Still, the rebellious teens-vs.-desperate teachers theme never quite blooms because the filmmakers are too intent on recycling babysitter/big sister/jailbait clich?s. [7]

Y’all remember the frantic media carnival that erupted two years ago, after Internet photos turned up showing McKinney girls in their bouncy cheerleader outfits striking racy poses at a condom store. [5]
