Loretta Lynn Morgan (born June 27, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee), known professionally as Lorrie Morgan, is an American country music singer. [2]

Although she spent most of her life singing, Lorrie Morgan didn’t become a star until the early ’90s, when she scored a string of Top Ten country hits. [3]

Born Loretta Lynn Morgan on June 27, 1959, Lorrie Morgan grew up the daughter of Grand Ole Opry star George Morgan. [4]

Though devastated, Morgan continued to work, and that year her album Leave the Light On went gold. [1]

Lorrie Morgan’s first live musical experience was singing “Paper Roses” on the Grand Ole Opry stage when she was barely thirteen years old. [5]

Four years later, she signed with RCA Records, her first major label; her first album on that label, Leave the Light On was released in 1989. [2]

In life and in art, the glamorous and gifted country stunner has a new record label, a renewed alliance with a mega-hit producer, a great husband and home life, confidence, contentment, and a spectacular new album. [6]

Some of the biggest names in country music have signed on for a tribute album to country legend Barbara Mandrell, who stepped away from the business in 1997. [3]

In 1999, Morgan returned with My Heart; the hits collection Side by Side appeared the following spring. [1]

Lorrie Morgan and Sammy Kershaw are a happy couple again, and most importantly, she says, their kids are happy and secure. [3]

The album is a collection of eleven songs that examine life from the perspective of lessons learned and wisdom earned. [6]

Something in Red, her second album, was released in 1991; it went platinum and spawned the number one single “What Part of No.” Morgan’s third album, Watch Me, was released in 1992; Merry Christmas From London (1993) and War Paint (1994) followed before she issued her Greatest Hits in 1995. [1]

The late 1980s found Morgan maturing musically and reaching critical acclaim as well as yielding chart topping hits such as “Five Minutes,” from the 1989 gold album, Leave The Light On. [5]

Lorrie quickly became one of country music’s most popular and successful female artists charting over a dozen top ten hits including ‘Five Minutes,’ ‘What Part of No,’ and ‘I Didn’t Know My Own Strength’ which all landed at number one. [7]
