when do we turn our clocks back in 2009

A reminder on the front page of Wednesday’s print edition of The Mirror unfortunately read that clocks should be turned back at 2 p.m. [1]

Daylight saving time in most of the United States ends at 2 a.m., local time, on Sunday, November 1. [...] The federal law first passed in 1918 and, thanks to a 2005 revision that went into practice in 2007, now stipulates areas that observe daylight saving time must switch back to standard time at 2 a.m. [2]

Most of Mexico, except Sonora, will end daylight saving time (DST) on Sunday, October 25, 2009. [...] Mexico’s DST schedule ends on the last Sunday of October, when the clocks move back from 2am (or 02:00) to 1am (or 01:00) local time. [...] Mexico City and many other places in Mexico end daylight saving time on Sunday, October 25, 2009. [3]

The rest of the Swedish Royal Family, however, has to wait patiently for the jab. [4]

MOUNT VERNON - As the leaves fall in fall, it’s time to fall back an hour on the clock Saturday night/Sunday morning as daylight-saving time comes to an end for 2009. [5]

In 1883 the U.S. railroad industry established official time zones with a set standard time within each zone. [...] In 1966 the U.S. Congress transferred that responsibility to the newly created Department of Transportation. [2]

Mexico’s DST ends about one week earlier than the United States, which ends its schedule on November 1 in 2009. [3]

IFK Gothenburg welcome Stockholm team AIK to Gamla Ullevi stadium on Sunday in a title decider as the Swedish Allsvenskan championship goes down to the wire. [4]

Therefore, for one week after Mexico ends its DST, the border areas of Mexico and the United States will experience a one-hour time difference until the United States reverts to its standard time on Sunday, November 1, 2009. [...] Europe’s DST schedule also ends on Sunday, October 25, 2009. [3]

Turning the clocks back an hour on Sunday morning, from 3am to 2am, is a return to what is considered to be normal time after the interlude of summer. [4]
