Taiwan-based Jardine Cribs is expanding a recall of cribs, issued last June, to include more products, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday. [1]

Description: This recall involves all drop side cribs with a different or “newer” style of plastic hardware from those cribs recalled in September 2007. [2]

In the third major recall of children’s sleeping equipment made by Simplicity in a year, the Consumer Product Safety Commission today announced a recall of 600,000 cribs because they pose an entrapment and suffocation hazard. [3]

Description: This recall involves 7 models of Jardine wooden cribs with the date codes identified below. [4]

The wooden crib slats can break, creating a gap, which can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard to infants and toddlers. [5]

According to the US Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), Jardine Enterprises is voluntarily recalling 96,000 cribs because the wooden crib slats can break, creating a gap that can pose an entrapment and strangulation hazard to infants and toddlers. [6]

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. [2]

Although both today’s recall and the one made last September involved the drop-side, the issue with the cribs in the 2007 recall was flaws with both the hardware and the crib design that made it possible for consumers to unintentionally install the drop-side upside down. [3]

The CPSC warns that slats on the cribs can break, creating an entrapment and safety danger to infants and toddlers. [...] Antique Walnut Capri Single Crib, Model #0108L00, date code between 7/06 and 11/07. [1]

In 10 of these incidents, consumers reported that their child broke the slat while in the crib. [4]

We returned our crib today to walmart with no problem at all…No receipt no date of purchase nothing…They gave us 140.00 on a gift card! [3]

In nine of these incidents, consumers reported that their infant or toddler broke the slat while in the crib. [5]

CPSC is still interested in receiving incident or injury reports that are either directly related to this product recall or involve a different hazard with the same product. [2]

When the drop-side detaches or partially detaches, it can create a hazardous gap that can lead to infant entrapment or suffocation. [3]
