I recently got alot of email asking for more specific help finding the hanging munchkin. [2]

It’s the 70th anniversary of the ‘Wizard of Oz’ movie, an American classic, which means a few theaters will be showing a remastered version of the film. [3]

The first time ever I heard about the suicide scene in “The Wizard of Oz” — where a munchkin or “little person” can be seen hanging — was my last year of college. [4]

At one point in the Wizard of Oz movie — right after they meet the Tin Man and they all set off together for Oz — it looks like there’s a dead person hanging from a noose in the background. [5]

All you really have to do is visit Snopes.com to learn all you need to know about the ‘Wizard of Oz’ hanging. [3]

There was no execution by hanging in the film- which would have been taboo for anything kiddy oriented. [6]

It’s funny I still get e-mails all the time with people saying ” I know who that munchkin was”, or “I am related to the munchkin that hung himself/herself”. [1]

The remastered version of ‘Wizard of Oz’ will have a much sharper image, so perhaps conspiracy theorists will be able to better see the munchkin hanging. [...] The person writing the E-mail states that they spotted a hanging figure in the background during this scene, and that it was a munchkin that committed suicide due to unrequited love. [3]

When ‘Wizard of Oz’ fans were able to stop, rewind, and pause their VHS tapes in 1989, more people were able to see the mysterious dark figure in the background during the notorious shot. [3]

People have also told me it isn’t on the DVD, that it is on the first VHS release, or on the Video Disc release, well I own all of those (check the References page). [1]
