The one that most likely will catch your interest right away is Young Justice, which we announced back in February. [1]

The official announcement of the “Young Justice” animated series first hit the wire back in April, with Cartoon Network revealing plans to kick off the animated series featuring a team of young heroes from the DC universe during the 2010-2011 season. [2]

Though it’s been rumored for a number of months now, an animated version of the DC Comics teen superteam Young Justice got its official announcement today via DC’s The Source Blog and the Cartoon Network 2010 upfront announcing new programming for the coming year. [3]

Back in February, word broke that a “Young Justice ” animated series was in the works when Stephanie Lemelin revealed that she had been cast as Arrowette. [4]

Earlier today at Cartoon Network’s Upfront presentation in New York, it was announced that the new “Young Justice” animated series will debut on Cartoon Network during the 2010 - 2011 season. [4]

“Young Justice” is executive produced by Sam Register (”Batman: The Brave and the Bold”) alongside producers Greg Weisman (”The Spectacular Spider-Man”) and Brandon Vietti (”The Batman”). [2]

Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman Doomsday, The Batman) and Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man, W.I.T.C.H.) are the producers. [1]

Animation and based upon characters from DC Comics. [5]

When the series was first announced, the team’s roster was said to include Robin, Superboy, Artemis, Kid Flash, Miss Martian and Aqualad. [2]

During this year’s New York Comic Con, fans got their first look at the series, courtesy of a six-minute extended trailer that debuted during the show. [6]

The video shows footage of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow and Aquaman, and eagle-eyed viewers will also spot character sheets for Black Canary, Red Tornado, John Stewart, Captain Marvel, Zatarra, Hawkman, Hawkgirl and others. [7]
