Navy Pier is a large pier on Lake michigan near Streeterville, close to Chicago’s downtown. [1]

Navy Pier is a 3,300-foot (1,010 m) long pier on the Chicago shoreline of Lake Michigan. [2]

Navy Pier was opened to public in 1916 and at the time it was the largest pier in the world, at 292 feet wide and 3000 feet long. [...] Originally named the Municipal Pier nr 2, the pier should have been accompanied by another one, according to Daniel Burnham’s 19909 Chicago plan, but the second one was never built. [3]

Initially, the pier was meant for shipping and entertainment, but throughout the years it was also used for military purposes. [...] With more than 50 acres of shops, food courts, parks, gardens, promenades and many other attractions, Navy Pier is the finest Midwest tourist and leisure destination, welcoming over 8 million guests every year. [3]

The first step in the redevelopment of the Navy Pier was the 1976 restoration by Jerome R. Butler, Jr. of the Auditorium building at the eastern end of the pier. [1]

The two magnificent buildings on the Navy Pier are the Auditorium and the Headhouse, which were designed by the same architect, Charles Summer Frost. [3]

- The Navy Pier features two museums: the Children’s museum (which plans a move to Grant Park) and the Smith museum of Stained Glass Windows, which opened in 2000. [1]

While the Headhouse hosts nowadays the Chicago Children’s Museum, the Auditorium is home to various events, featuring a splendid Grand Ballroom with a high half-domed ceiling. [3]

It was modeled after the first ferris wheel built for the 1893 World Columbian Exposition. [1]

Even as Chicago Municipal Pier was being built, mass-produced cars and trucks were beginning to wreak havoc on the package freight and passenger steamboat industries of Lake Michigan. [...] The International Exhibitions of the early 1960s drew attractions from around the world, including circus and folkloric dance acts, arts and crafts, and international cuisine. [2]

Navy Pier is a tradition, and when you look at all there is to do and experience it’s easy to see why that tradition gets bigger and better every year! [5]

I’m not talking about pie-in-the-sky, follow-your-bliss nonsense here. [1]

The “follow your bliss” philosophy attributed to Campbell following the original broadcast of The Power of Myth (see below) derives from the Hindu Upanishads; however, Campbell was possibly also influenced by the 1922 Sinclair Lewis novel Babbitt. [2]

The hero of Daniel Defoe’s novel Robinson Crusoe of 1719, a shipwrecked English sailor who, by virtue of his own ingenuity, survives for years on a small tropical island. [1]

Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe was inspired by the story of Alexander Selkirk, a Scottish sailor who went to sea in 1704. [2]

She believes that Daniel Defoe based Robinson Crusoe not on the lonely ordeal of Alexander Selkirk, a cantankerous buccaneer dumped by his shipmates on an island off Valparaiso in 1704, but on the mishaps of Robert Knox, a trader taken captive by a native chieftain in Ceylon in 1660. [3]

Robinson Crusoe flees Britain on a ship after killing his friend over the love of Mary. [4]

The French libretto was written by Eug?ne Cormon and Hector-Jonathan Cr?mieux, which was loosely adapted from the novel Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, though the work owes more to British pantomime than to the book itself. [5]

A novel sef from 1652 to 1694 in Great Britain and South America, on the African coast, and on an island off the coast of South America; published in 1719. [1]

The story was perhaps influenced by Alexander Selkirk, a Scottish castaway who lived for four years on the Pacific island called “M?s a Tierra” (in 1966 its name was changed to Robinson Crusoe Island), Chile. [6]

Daniel Defoe dramatizes such an experience in Robinson Crusoe! [...] It’s no wonder the story was such a success… The story is about a man who is stranded on a desert island for 28 years. [2]

Apolitical activist, journalist, merchant, and religious rebel, Daniel Defoe was in a unique position to write about his times. [1]

) is a novel by Daniel Defoe that was first published in 1719. [6]

Robinson Crusoe was first published in 1719 under the title The Life and Strange Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe of York. [7]

He then built on the story, adding his imagination, his experiences, and a whole history of other stories to create the novel for which he has become so well-known. [2]

Daniel Defoe had written many books which everyone liked to read. [7]

Left to fend for himself, Crusoe seeks out a tentative survival on the island, until he meets Friday, a tribesman whom he saves from being sacrificed. [4]

By submitting my information above, I acknowledge that I have reviewed and agreed to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and I agree to receive updates and marketing messages from time to time from Paramore and its record label. [1]

Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams has teamed up with alt-rock mainstays Weezer for a track on the upcoming tribute album Muppets: The Green Album, hitting stores on August 23. [2]

Hayley Williams at Virgin Mobile Festival, Baltimore, August, 2008. [3]

Definite proof that big things come in small packages, Hayley Williams has certainly managed to use her diminutive, pixie-ish stature to her benefit. [4]

Simply Hayley is an unofficial fansite for the singer Hayley Williams, the site has no contact with Hayley in any way. [5]

Hayley Williams’ stint as the lead singer for the popular rock band Paramore has cemented her place as an indelible figure within the alt-rock landscape, and she has consequently lent her unique talents to a number of projects unrelated to her day job (including an appearance in New Found Glory’s “Kiss Me” video). [4]

Hayley Nichole Williams (born December 27, 1988) is an American rock singer, songwriter and the lead vocalist of the band Paramore. [3]

On June 7th, Paramore released their brand new song “Monster,” which is the lead single off the Transformers: Dark Of The Moon soundtrack. [6]

For SMS messages, I understand that message and data rates may apply, and that I may receive up to 2 SMS messages per week from Paramore’s mailing list. [1]

Just as Hayley Williams and her bandmates began recording their debut album, bassist Jeremy Davis announced he was leaving Paramore for undisclosed reasons. [4]

Paramore appeared at the CMT Music Awards in Nashville last night, where they introduced The Band Perry during the show. [6]

In 2006, Paramore started touring outside of the US for the first time, which included a headline tour of the UK and supporting British post-hardcore rockband The Blackout on the Give It A Name Festival in Europe. [3]

Paramore fans can bid on one-of-a-kind band memorabilia to support Japan relief efforts in the band’s “Paramore Yard Sale” online auction. [2]

The video was shot at Linda Vista Community Hospital in Los Angeles, which is an abandoned hospital that is supposedly haunted. [6]
