Sunscreen pill

I agree that sunscreen pills would be a great invention. [1]

For those of you who don’t like the mess of applying sunscreen lotions, there’s a sunscreen pill. [2]

Just in time for Spring, I ran across an old Elle magazine article about sunscreen pills, which piqued my curiosity. [3]

Sunscreen pills can supplement, but not replace, topical sunscreen. [4]

The future of sun protection is looking much brighter with the addition of sunscreen pills to the vast array of skin care products. [5]

Protecting your skin from ultraviolet (UV) damage is the central claim with products like Heliocare, Fernblock, and Sunpill. [6]

It’s important to use a good sunscreen lotion to protect from sun exposure which otherwise increases the risk of skin cancer. [7]

These products would be a wonderful alternative to topical sunscreens because I am very allergic to oxybenzone and avenobenzene, two common ingredients in over-the-counter topical sun blocks. [1]

Traditional sunscreens block ultraviolet light before it hits your skin, helping to reduce the amount of damage UV light can do. [4]

1) Sunscreens with vitamin A may cause cancer. [8]

Most of us are aware that we should protect our skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays, but applying sunscreen lotions, especially on squirmy and impatient children, can be a hassle, not to mention messy. [5]

Heliocare is also goes by the name of Sun Vitamins and is made from the extract of a South American fern, Polypodium leucotomos, whose common name is calaguala. [2]

Clinical studies on Heliocare demonstrate that Polypodium leucotomos extract protects against UV damage to the skin, decreases UVA-induced damage, prevents acute sunburn, and prevents Langerhans cell depletion upon UV exposure. [3]

The active ingredient in this supplement, polypodium leucotomos extract, has shown to offer at least some sun protection. [9]
