The Amazing Race

The nineteenth instalment of The Amazing Race commeneces, with all new teams vying for the one million dollar cash prize. [1]

The Amazing Race 13: This season of The Amazing Race came to CBS on September 28, 2008 and ended on December 7. [1]

From the beaches of Rio to a trailer park in the Florida Keys, sisters Kisha & Jen overcame past demons and tough competition to settle their unfinished business and win The Amazing Race. [3]

It aired on CBS in the United States on a special 90-minute episode; and then it returned to its normal hour-long format the following week on Sunday nights at 8:00 p.m. [4]

Contestants strive to arrive first at “pit stops ” at the end of each leg of the race to win prizes and to avoid coming in last, which carries the possibility of elimination or a significant disadvantage in the following leg. [5]

It’s fair to say there has been a mixed reaction to CBS’ announcement that Big Brother 13 would feature the return of “dynamic duos” from the show’s past. [2]

This item would allow the team to skip any Detour, Roadblock, or Route Marker task before Leg 8. [4]

Hosted by Phil Keoghan, the seven-time Emmy-winning show sends teams of two around the globe competing in tasks with one victorious duo winning $1 million. [2]

Most Route Markers are attached to the boxes that contain clue envelopes, but some may mark the place where the teams must go in order to complete tasks, or may be used to line a course that the teams must follow. [5]

The race visited two new countries, Ghana and Bangladesh, and introduced two new twists — the Express Pass, which could be used to bypass a single task on a leg (used only up to the eighth leg), and the Double U-Turn, which involved two teams forcing two different teams to turn back and complete both Detours.
