NEW YORK (Reuters) - Pop music stars The Black Eyed Peas have rescheduled their “Concert 4 NYC” to September 30 after extreme weather in June forced organizers to cancel the Central Park event, Will.I.Am announced on Wednesday. [1]

Black Eyed Peas fans who missed out on seeing the group in New York City when a June concert was rained out are getting a second chance. [3]

The Black Eyed Peas were scheduled to play the free concert, a benefit for the poverty-fighting Robin Hood Foundation, on June 9, but a storm forced organizers to cancel the show, disappointing thousands of fans. The Black Eyed Peas will play a mostly-free concert June 9 at 7:30 p.m. [2]

The Black Eyed Peas are joining with Robin Hood, the largest poverty-fighting organization in New York City, to raise funds to help the 1.8 million New Yorkers living in poverty. [5]

Tickets to the June concert were given away through an online lottery, and some VIP tickets were sold for $500, with the proceeds going to charity. [4]

Those who won or bought tickets to the June 9 show will get emails with instructions on how to claim their replacement tickets. [3]

Funds raised through the event will go toward reducing poverty and to open three Black Eyed Peas’ Peapod Academies in New York City. [2]
