Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis (born 29 April 1957) is an English actor with both British and Irish citizenship. [1]

Both movies featured Daniel Day Lewis_ in prominent and very different roles: in Room with a View, he played a repressed, snobbish Edwardian upperclassman, while in Laundrette, he played a lower-class gay ex-skinhead in love with an ambitious Pakistani businessman in Thatcher's London. [2]

Day-Lewis threw his personal version of “method acting ” into full throttle in 1989 with his performance as Christy Brown in Jim Sheridan ’s My Left Foot which garnered him numerous awards, including the Academy Award for Best Actor. [1]

Daniel Day-Lewis is a leading man of stage and screen, known for his two Academy Awards and for his intensity in movies such as My Beautiful Laundrette (1985), The Last of the Mohicans (1992) and The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988). [...] Day-Lewis appeaed in all but one scene of the two hour and forty minute movie, and his dominating performance garnered him nearly every industry and ciritics award at the end of 2007 including an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. [3]

His brilliant performance as "Christy Brown" in Jim Sheridan 's My Left Foot (1989) won him numerous award s, including The Academy Award for best actor. [2]

Day-Lewis typically disappeared from sight yet again after Gangs, waiting two years before appearing again in a movie, this time being directed by his wife in the drama The Ballad of Jack & Rose, but he would again be showered with praise for his portrayal of Daniel Plainview, the ambitious, misanthropic center of Paul Thomas Anderson ’s There WIll Be Blood. [3]

Daniel made his film debut in Sunday Bloody Sunday (1971), but then acted on stage with the Bristol Old Vic and Royal Shakespeare Companies and did not appear on screen again until 1982, when he landed his first adult role, a bit part in Gandhi (1982). [2]

His role as Bill “The Butcher” Cutting in Gangs of New York (2002) earned him the BAFTA Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. [1]

Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis was born in London, England, the second child of Cecil Day-Lewis (aka Nicholas Blake) (Poet Laureate of England) and his second wife, Jill Balcon. [4]

Billy Graham

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

One of the best-known Christian evangelists of the 20th century, Billy Graham gained world attention in 1949 with a tent revival in downtown Los Angeles that was scheduled for three weeks and lasted six. [1]

Billy Graham was an evangelist at revival meetings, and on radio and television for over 40 years. [2]

Billy Graham was admitted to a hospital today near his home in western North Carolina to be tested for pneumonia after suffering from congestion, a cough, and a slight fever. [3]

In hindsight there was little indication that Graham would one day preach the Christian gospel to as many as 215 million people in live audiences over 185 countries. [2]

Graham was the president of Northwestern College in Minnesota from 1948 to 1952. [4]

Graham consulted and prayed with every U.S. president from Harry Truman to Barack Obama — a fact that solidified his popular status as the nation’s preacher but also opened him to criticism. [1]

After that and for the rest of his life, he has been America’s most prominent Christian leader. [5]

William Franklin “Billy” Graham, Jr. (born November 7, 1918) is an American evangelical Christian evangelist. [6]

In politics, Graham was a member of the Democratic Party, but changed to Republican during the presidency of his friend Richard Nixon. [4]

Unlike many evangelists then and now, Graham had little formal theological training; when his friend Chuck Templeton urged him to join him in applying to Princeton Theological Seminary for an advanced theological degree, Graham declined to apply with Princeton or any other university within the United States as he was already serving as the president of Northwestern Bible College. carrier iq

Wednesday, November 30th, 2011

Software vendor Carrier IQ has withdrawn its threat to sue a security researcher for saying that its software helps phone companies surreptitiously track users of many popular mobile phones. [1]

Carrier IQ markets its software as a “mobile service intelligence solution” on its Web site. [2]

In November 2011, security researcher Trevor Eckhart revealed that Carrier IQ was logging information such as location without notifying users or allowing them to opt out, and that the information tracked included detailed keystroke logs. [3]

You may be aware of the growing controversy surrounding Carrier IQ, a piece of software found pre-installed on Sprint phones that, according to developers who have investigated, is capable of detecting, recording, and transmitting various user actions and inputs. [4]

Carrier IQ is a rapidly growing startup headquartered in Mountain View, California, and recently declared the “Top Wireless Company 2008″ by FierceWireless. [5]

Carrier IQ sells a stock client for BlackBerry, Symbian, and Android. [6]

Company CEO Larry Lenhart, also apologized to researcher Trevor Eckhart for making the threat and expressed his interest in having an “open dialogue” going forward. [1]

Carrier IQ, a maker of software to monitor smartphone performance, has withdrawn a legal attack against Trevor Eckhart and apologized after the Electronic Frontier Foundation came to the security researcher’s defense. [...] A week later, after the EFF took on Eckhart’s case, the company reversed course completely. [2]

… the fact that CIQ is in fact seeing all this information means that it has access to it and could very easily record it and transmit it. [4]
